How students' cope with mental struggles in the 21st Century
A new epidemic has risen in the U.S. that started long before COVID-19. According to the CDC, approximately 4.4 million children aged 3-17 have diagnosed anxiety and 1.9 million have diagnosed depression. These numbers continuously rise every year.
This not only affects the U.S. but the worldwide community as well. According to the World Health Organization, globally more than 264 million people of all ages suffer from depression.
This begs the question: what is causing these numbers? Students from Miege have shared many different reasons for their mental struggles.
