Why we all want to ‘Eat Mor Chikin’

Whenever I’m craving something delicious, something satisfying, something truly “comfort food,” one restaurant is on my mind as I pick up my phone to order: Chick-fil-A. The most popular restaurant in America for four years running according to the American Consumer Satisfaction Index, this beloved fast-food chain doesn’t have a reputation for nothing. Chick-Fil-A embodies all of the qualities that makes a restaurant so successful and popular – namely good food, good atmosphere and good service.

The crispy chicken sandwich, the crunchy waffle fries and the ice-cold lemonade have drawn all people of good taste to its doors- and it’s been that way since 1946. Truett Cathy, the founder of the Chick-fil-A we know today, must’ve had a stroke of genius when he developed the Original Chicken Sandwich. Since then, the menu has developed into a wide array of fresh, delicious, and relatively healthy options. There’s nothing to hate when you’re served a hot chicken sandwich or a biscuit fresh out of the oven. It’s pure comfort food, and it’s purely delicious.

Besides the hot food, you’re also served with a warm smile and a “my pleasure.” I’m sure many of you have experienced this friendly response if you’ve ever been to a Chick-fil-A restaurant. It’s a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is cheerful, and extremely family-friendly. You can constantly hear laughter and children’s voices in the restaurants. To me, this is a sign of positive vibes that are off the charts. I apparently wasn’t the only one who thought so. In 2019, Chick-fil-A was named the “Best Brand for Overall Experience” and “Most Respected Quick-Service Brand” by QSR Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards. Clearly, Chick-fil-A has not only won over American’s hearts, but their stomachs too.

Lastly, the service of Chick-fil-A is well-known for being exceptional. I’ve experienced it first-hand. It was a busy afternoon, and my family decided to drive through Chick-Fil-A for lunch. The restaurant was clearly packed, and the line was growing quickly. Suddenly, we saw Chick-Fil-A employees streaming out of the restaurant with iPads and pens, going from car to car and receiving orders. We watched them get orders, go inside, then shortly come out with the food. Cars were pulling out of the line after paying, and the line was moving along very quickly. When it was our turn to order, the employee was quick and polite. Our food came out not even five minutes after we ordered. The efficiency of the whole thing was outstanding.

Of course, Chick-fil-A is not the only quick and delicious fast-food restaurant. McDonald’s is known for having fast service, but there have been a few times when my order was confused, much to my dismay. Wendy’s is also a popular choice, but the atmosphere feels crowded and tight, and it’s not the best experience. Of course, that leaves what some might call the archenemy of Chick-fil-A: Popeye’s. The chicken sandwich competition between Chick-fil-a and Popeye’s was a huge trend earlier in the year, and many people sided with either restaurant as to who had the better sandwich. Of course, the choice of sandwich depends completely on the person. But the chicken sandwich is not the only thing that makes Chick-fil-A unique, unlike Popeye’s, whose popularity only soared when they came up with a sandwich to challenge Chick-fil-A.

Overall, Chick-fil-A is the perfect restaurant for a satisfying, hearty meal anywhere, anytime – even in quarantine. Chick-fil-A has made sure to please even in difficult times, and they have offered service through drive-thru, curbside pick-up and delivery, and contactless ordering and payment through the mobile app. Its many options make it stand out against other limited restaurants. Therefore, I rate Chick-fil-A five out of five stars. Eating Chick-fil-A is a delicious, heartfelt experience that would make everyone’s quarantine a little bit tastier.
