I was scrolling through the Netflix movies on my TV, looking for a good movie to watch with my family and I came across “Enola Holmes.” I noticed that the actress Millie Bobby Brown from “Stranger Things” was in the movie, and it caught my attention. My family and I were all wanting to watch more of the movie once we got a little sneak peek of what it was about. 

“Enola Holmes” is a mystery film that was released on Netflix on Sept. 23. “Enola Holmes” is a movie about a teenage girl whose name backward spells “alone.” Enola goes to London in search of her disappeared mother. A mysterious adventure is awaiting Enola to find her answers as to why her mother has disappeared. 

“Enola Holmes” is a movie that shows mother and daughter bonding where the mother teaches her young daughter how to survive life, whether it be alone or with someone. This movie gives a flashback at the beginning of the film where Enola’s mom teaches her many skills, only to leave her alone. She goes through a lot of disagreements and obstacles with her two brothers, Sherlock Holmes and Mycroft Holmes.

This was such a great movie that made me anxious to want to know the answers as to the mystery Enola has to solve about her mother. It made me feel as if I were in the movie because Enola stops and talks to the person watching the movie. Enola definitely shows to never give up on the path she is on and is independent because she does not want to be someone who she isn’t. She is a good problem solver, just like her brother Sherlock.

This movie might even bring in a bit of romance because Enola meets a boy who is very compatible and smart like her. They seem to get along very well from the way they both conversate. The boy brings Enola some happiness while trying to find her mom. He is a distraction for Enola so she won’t be too upset about her mom’s disappearance.

“Enola Holmes” is a movie where I didn’t know what was going to happen next because it was full of suspense and mysteries. Anything can happen. It is such a great movie to watch with family or friends. I watched it with my family on a cozy Saturday afternoon because we saw it on the top 10 movies on Netflix so we decided to see what it was all about and my whole family enjoyed watching it with some salted caramel popcorn.

I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to follow along on a surprising adventure with Enola Holmes.
