Senior Rohan Putz has earned himself much respect from his peers for his large shoe collection. Putz started his growing collection of over 250 pairs of shoes in the sixth grade when his interest in shoes began. According to Putz, he would ask his mom if there were any chores around the house that he could do to earn money to buy shoes.

His interest in shoes goes beyond his own personal collection as he has made over thousands of dollars reselling shoes.

“I started to understand how reselling shoes works and how you could make money off of them so I have been reselling for six or seven years,” Putz said. “I have resold ten pairs of shoes and made $2,000-$4,000.”

Shoes tend to fluctuate in pricing for reselling, especially when media or drama exists around the shoe collaborator and drives the price up.

“The best ones I have to sell are the Travis Scott’s so if something happens to him then those shoes will go up a lot,” Putz said. “And with Yeezys and all the stuff going on, [Adidas] said they will stop making those and the top ten most bought sneakers in the last 24 hours are all 10 Yeezys, so I have a bunch of those to sell.”

According to Putz, his favorite brands are Jordan and Nike. His favorite shoes that he owns are the Travis Scott Jordan 1 Low Fragment X , as well as the  Nike SB Dunk Low Ben & Jerry’s ‘Chunky Dunky’.

“I think they are cool because they try to incorporate a bunch of different things like different flavor colors and some cow print details,” Putz said.

He also draws inspiration for his collection from professional athletes such as PJ Tucker, NBA player for the 76ers, and he aspires to have the amount of shoes they have one day.

“I always look up to all the athletes and see their walk-in shoe closets full of shoes and think it’s so cool, and that is what I want,” Putz said.
