“The Man Who Came To Dinner”

Taking the lead, senior Francis Cressey takes on the part as the main character in “The Man Who Came To Dinner.” The play is a comedy by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart that takes the audience through a fun-filled story. “It was kind of surreal because I still don’t think it’s hit me yet that I am a senior,” Cressey said. “I love how close everyone is with each other and just how connected it all feels.”

Performing to the crowd, freshman Alexander McBride participates in his first Miege play. Students got to showcase their skills after practicing for months on end. “I’ve been doing theater for a lot of my life so it was nice to get my first debut here at Miege,” McBride said. “Overall, it is a very welcoming community to be a part of.”

Senior Kirston Verhulst leads the girls volleyball team through the gym to celebrate their third consecutive state championship win. “I was a little bit nervous walking around the gym because there were a lot of people in there, but it was nice to see the support from everyone after we won,” Verhulst said. Greeted by the seniors, freshman Khi Allen walks up the red carpet at the freshmen welcome day filled with school spirit. “I was feeling a little bit nervous but also super excited at the same time to start a new school year,” Allen said. “There was a lot of school spirit that day, especially during the herd competitions, and the whole school is super spirited.”

As the crowd stands up for the champions, senior Livi Shull takes it all in with fellow teammates. Shull described how the new coaching staff led them to state. “They adjusted greatly to us, and we adjusted to them and it all worked out great,” Shull said. “I am so very appreciative for the coaches and my team.”

Hello! My name is Evan Ulmer and this will be my second year on the Miegian Staff as a senior! I am very excited to be our team's Photo Editor as I have always had a strong passion for photography! I had such a blast on the photography staff last year, that I knew returning I wanted to take on an editor position.
